Hey all,

For those uploaders who are fed up with MPEG4s of their movies with sound that isn't sync-ed properly, due to our sometime conversion errors, please reply to this mail listing the URLs of the movies you want the MPEG4s removed from, and I'll then remove your post and add your movie to the list (which I'll keep as part of this message). When we have enough movies listed, I'll go through and prune the MPEG4s from all of them.

Or that's the plan! Short-term, we'll remove the offending MPEG4s, and in the long-term, we still hope to fix them.

s!

The movie Armageddon needs the mpeg 4 removed because it does not give the viewer a chance to experience the real message of the film.
Both versions of the Mpeg4 I downloaded were filled with pop up squares of different colors. The text that is included inthe film was unreadable and quite frankly I think it makes my film look terrible.

I spent over 6 months creating this movie and I hate to see it be destroyed by terrible downloads.

Please remove the Mpeg4 streams and downloads from it. If you need a stream for this video
look at the election 2004 area of this site for a windows media download I placed there. At least this video looks better than the Mpeg4.

Hi Simon,

Yes, if you could at some point down the road remove those pesky MPEG4 files from the following links, we would be most appreciative.

http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=opensource_movies&collectionid=hospitality

http://www.archive.org/movies/movies-details-db.php?collection=opensource_movies&collectionid=crudemoneyrevised

Question:
Is there any future possibility for uploaders to delete or modify their own file listings, including adding after-the-fact new gifs, on their own without having to enlist the archivist's time to do so? Maybe some semi-automated web script could do the job?

While we are speculating, would it be too difficult or otherwise prohibitory to allow uploaders to add a gif or jpeg to their listing in the form of a "movie poster" or similar graphic within certain size constraints? And example of such a poster can be found at our website: http://www.faketrailers.com/

Thanks for all your excellent efforts on behalf of the many who love Archive.org
